Srinagar, Apr 18: A 16-year-old boy was killed when government forces fired at protesters in Narbal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday morning.
A police official said the youth were protesting against the detention of separatist leaders when paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel fired on them near Narbal Ghat.
Three persons were injured in firing with one of them, identified as Suhail Ahmad, 16, sustaining critical injuries.
He was rushed to a hospital in Srinagar but died on the way, the police official said.
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani last night called for Kashmir-wide strike today to protest against Tral killings and arrest of separatist leaders.
