Srinagar, Mar 30: Six bodies have been retrieved from the debris of a building which collapsed early Sunday in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said.
The bodies have been identified as sisters Naseema and Shugufta –daughters of Ghulam Nabi, Mohammad Shaban, his wife Rukhsana, son Mohammad Aslam and sister Shameema.
The rescue operations are going on, a spokesperson said.
DIG Central Kashmir Ghulam Hassan Bhat is supervising the rescue operations.
He said that at least ten more bodies are feared to be trapped inside the rubble.
The houses and cowsheds collapsed early today due to incessant rainfall in the region from past couple of days.
