Snowfall in Kashmir has brought cheer for local tourism as tourist arrivals jumps. First snowfall in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir increased tourists in the state.
Its a perfect opportunity for the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism which was wrecked by violence and stone pelting in mid 2010. Even though snowfall is very depressing for the local people in Srinagar and Kashmir valley, they are enjoying the tourist rush.
A thick blanked of snow over the Srinagar has given a heaven like look to the city. Kashmir which is known as the Paradise of Earth is truly living to its name with the first snowfall of the season.
Hundreds of tourists are visiting frozen Dal Lake , people are amazed and smiling at the same time where kids are jumping once in a while to see the thickness of the snow.
In Jammu popular pilgrimage destination Vaishno Devi has also received its first snowfall. Pilgrims have started flocking to the Shrine. Thousands of people prefer to travel Vaishno Devi in the off season of December and January due to less rush and snowfall.
More snowfall is predicted by Met department in the future which increases the possibility of more tourists in Jammu and Kashmir this season to have a perfect start of 2011 for tourism industry.
