Baramulla, Jan 13: Accusing BJP of trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of valley which has returned after the prolonged unrest, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today asked the BJP why they are targeting Lal Chowk only for hoisting the tricolor and why not the north-east and Maoist affected areas.
“Why only Lal Chowk has become centre stage for the BJP to hoist the National Flag and not the north-east and the Maoist affected areas where CRPF men and policemen are massacred by the Maoists. Let good sense prevail to BJP and they desist from the cheap politics,” Omar Abdullah said on the sidelines of passing out parade at Sheeri Police Training Centre here.
Omar said that BJP should look to their tallest leader Vajpayee who moved away from jingoism and talked about humanity while dealing with the K-issue. Omar repeated his appeal to the BJP not to hoist the flag in the Lal Chowk and suggested them to work in the national interest.
